CCR5 is viral entry point for HIV.
COVID uses ACE2.
CCR5 d32 prevents hiv infection. In context of COVID will mot stop infection, but should stop severe COVID, as CCL4/RANTES can’t mediate/induce cytokine storm with d32 mutation.
This is the observation havasu made, that apparently no severe COVID patients with d32.
