An impeachment in the House is assured next week. I think Pelosi will wind up holding the impeachment until Biden takes office. The spell will be broken at that point. Senators will not have to worry about a crippled Trump who will be facing State charges in NY and charges in DC for conspiracy and enticement of sedition.

This gives the Senate and easy out to vote to convict. This will give Trump no secret service protection, no pension or benefits and bar him from ever running for office again.

I believe this is the route they’ll attempt to take.
