The WaPost article is a repetition of the news out of the UK that tocilizumab and sarilumab demonstrated a relative risk of death in critical covid patients when administered early.
Jlang and others discussed this over the last few days.
The results run counter to a number of trials in the US, but it appears that early administration in patients who have progressed to severe/critical from moderate may be effective.
Not unequivocal or profoundly impactful, should these results demonstrate the same efficacy elsewhere.
