Re: onestepahead #71746
This was the condition of the control group:
None/supplemental oxygen only: 2/402 (0.5);
High flow nasal cannula 110/402 (27.4)
Non-invasive ventilation only: 169/402 (42.0)
Invasive mechanical ventilation: 121/402 (30.1)
Vasopressor support 79/402 (19.7)
Mortality control group: 35.8% (142/397)
However, our severe population in CD-12 was NOT on oxygen delivered through high flow nasal cannula; but I agree that as long as a majority of patients in the trial are from the critical population as specified in the protocol, we should be fine...
" Severe [...] None of the following: Respiratory failure (defined by endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation, oxygen delivered by high-flow nasal cannula, noninvasive positive pressure ventilation, or clinical diagnosis of respiratory failure in setting of resource limitations), Septic shock (defined by SBP < 90 mm Hg, or Diastolic BP < 60 mm Hg), Multiple organ dysfunction/failure"
