Re: KenChowder #70852
Before MS-DOS there was a little company in Seattle Washington called Seattle Computer. The original DOS was developed there by a computer programmer called Tim Paterson.
Bill gates sold this operating system to IBM then went and bought the operating system from Seattle Computer for $50,000. Then selling it to all hardware computer makers of the time.
I believe they made a movie about it. I believe it was called “ The Pirates of Silicon Valley” I am not positive about that name... it’s been a long time.
Goggle this:
Who developed DOS?
Tim Paterson
MS-DOS/Inventors
American computer programmer Timothy Paterson, a developer for Seattle Computer Products, wrote the original operating system for the Intel Corporation's 8086 microprocessor in 1980, initially calling it QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating System), which was soon renamed 86-DOS.
