As Ohm pointed out, the patients in CD12 cannot seek the EIND. And it is unfortunate that placebo patients in the trial might die. What I'm wondering about is whether SOC or placebo patients can request an EIND after 28 days post-treatment.
The vast majority of placebo patients in the trial are "finished" with the trial; it's only those recruited in the last few days of enrollment who have not hit the 28-day point after treatment. Can the others be saved -- assuming they can reckon that they must be in the placebo arm?
