For the most part we've trusted CDC guidelines on how to act and live. Originally all the tracking made sense but at this point it's obviously doing very little, for what ever reasons it's not working.

I agree with you, imagine the CDC trusting us to act responsibly if/when our daily test shows positive would help so much.
Vaccine aside, I think a case of $5 rapid tests with no strings attached for everyone would do much more then any measure that is being taken. Be almost like having to trust your acquaintances. Ah the good ol days.
