DFW is just saying that Seeking37 is not necessarily what Evil Rabbit says -- someone whom the short prey upon -- but perhaps someone pretending to be a newbie in order to voice an experienced short's attempt to manipulate minds. If you look at what Seeking wrote, it doesn't sound all that Bo-Peep-innocent, does it?:

A message board is the modern-day equivalent of the courtly masque, where lords like Louis the XIVth himself put on elaborate costumes and danced together, in disguise. Maybe Seeking37 is the Dark Lord Feuerstein himself. Or maybe a newbie asking plaintive questions about the stock dropping fast?
