You are really reaching out there on all this. I have a bad feeling if Trump makes that move that congress will physically remove him from office. Trump has burnt far to many bridges and I don't think he has enough people in office that will actually stand up for any length of time.
On those damn voting machines? I believe the democrats were first to acknowledge something needs to be done but in the end it was Mitch saying we don't have enough time to deal with that in this session. It was the month of May either 2017,18 or 19. The house of course ran their bill in parallel.
