Clearly what's happened is that at some point the App will be used for at home testing registration and logging, but for now, NHS and whoever else are integrating QDXH with the tests in some way. The App is not needed in the individual sense.
Any industry or airlines use would be a separate private system, not on a public App. The market evolved and QDXH with it.
