I actually think you need LL more than vaccine now because it is more effective economically and practically.
Let me explain - The vaccine will be needed everywhere - every country will want it - that is billions of vials. Thats a huge ask, and a massive logistic operation. IT systems have to be updated to manage it etc.
But we know 90%+ of people recover on their own (all be it with a % with LH). So if you can treat that Moderate/Severe response - you need a far less complicated system to treat people.
This buys you time to get people vaccinated and return the economy vs still months of a closed economy while we get everyone vaccinated. Thats going to take months.
Don't get me wrong - vaccine is great news - but if we had multiple tools all the better ie. Leronlimab (or others) we all win. And we have months of this left. Months. So yes - the world needs LL now, and probably every year - because like the flu there will be new infections etc.
For now you can see LL only being used for S/C cases - because of supply.
But with a good supply - why would it not just be given to someone if they get the virus every year - just for peace of mind so you can just live with it without risk. Because thats what steady state is going to look like. We need a treatment system that will be effective with say 70% or 80% of the population with a reasonable degree of immunity limiting the side effects, and the remainder needing some sort of simple treatment so that they can just go about life (all be it with a cold) without hospital time (so you give them something early to make sure they never have a chance to see a hospital). Because that's what steady state is now with the flu etc.
