Can you clarify the significance of the dates in your post (2/28 and 3/1)? I am assuming you are discussing the cap gains becoming LT...
Have you verified the start date on our cap gains would be the day we received the div, and there is no tie to a date when the shares become marketable? Or is it really the date Joe told the transfer agent to put out the shares?
It’s interesting, because we actually received the shares on different dates. I actually received the shares on 3 different dates in different accounts. One of mine was actually on 2/25.
So, if it’s the date received, people will change from ST to LT gains on different dates.
Or maybe this isn't what you were talking about and I’m off topic...
