With an HIV cure it wouldn't be 5 years. The one thing to worry about is the transition time between when the stem cell transplant takes place and the transplanted cells wipe out native cells. As long as we can get 100% or very near CCR5 coverage then there will be no place for HIV to bind too and replicate and no latent reservoirs. No trace of HIV after 6 months should be sufficient proof.
