Honestly I don't think that the scientific paper is going to hold up anything in terms of the development of the vaccine, it just additionally tries our patience as the process of publishing the lab results that way just takes significantly longer.
So they don't have to get over the idea to publish the results scientifically, even though it would most likely be better for us if they would just put our a PR instead.
