Don't think it's paid. It's a symbiotic relationship, the news helps those in the story, assuming it is a positive story, as this one was, and the story helps draw people to the news outlet and gives them material to publish. Also, it may have originated from the NBC Los Angeles television story because it is cited in the story. Many reporters are "lazy" and "steal" stories from other news outlets. Or, it may be the work of CyDy's new PR team. Reporters love it when you feed them material they can quote or use without much effort. In any event, I doubt CyDy had to pay for this story. Eventually, one story will lead to another story and another one.
