In the past when I spoke to Mr. Barnhizer about the email updates he said they go out to those who've signed up to receive the newsletters and that the number was a few hundred. If that's the total number they're sent to probably a fraction open them, just like any other information email.
How many of that fraction react to any news?
A few.
The people that matter would be the corporate employees tasked with monitoring new patent information in that USPTO Gazette. Until then it seems virtually no one will know about the development potential outside of those reading and understanding the email updates and even then we're given very limited information.
Why the speculation on a buyout before anyone knows what's in the patent or what's developed so far with that diagnostics company effort? There's currently no basis for it without knowledge.
