It's possible that this is effective for the reference virus they've used. The virus will definitely continue to spread and mutate with only 25 million able to be treated. If SARS-Cov-2 mutates in a way it's still close enough to the protein decided for with this RNA vaccine, it may be effective enough when the next 750 million can be treated. I think the bigger concern is safety / side effects... Newer technology/platform. I will be waiting at least 12 months before considering any vaccine, any type, personally.
