In South Africa, they had the mildest flu season on record this spring. (Remember that they are on the opposite schedule from the Northern Hemisphere, our spring and summer is their flu season.) They attribute it to mask wearing, because the rate of infection was extraordinarily low.

Even if Brilacidin or some other drug or some vaccine or some combination thereof gets COVID under control, I cannot foresee a situation where I would want to walk into a grocery store during flu season without a mask, ever again.
