I learned early on that you have to bring either two or three gifts when heading into a medical facility. One for the front of house, if you will. If you give just one to them it will either stay up there and never make it back, or they will feel obligated to give it to the doctors and they won't get any. Or you take it past them and it never filters back up. So I would go with one bag of candy/box of donuts for up front, another for the nurses and doctors in back. Sometimes you add a third that goes directly to the doctor(s). I remember one time my coworker and I called on a doctor together and brought something like five or six smoothies to cover everyone (or shakes, can't remember, but it was from a local place everyone loved) and we went back to the doctor with them. The small staff saw us walk through and was pretty pumped for their treat. We figured we'd give the doctor first choice. So as we're talking the staff filters in to grab one and the doctor told them they weren't for them and shooed them away. He took every damn one of them.
