I’m not so sure the gov’t has or will give any $s to Lilly. Please correct me if I am wrong. The wording of Lilly’s PR and many follow-up articles troubled me. The PR is written to promote the experimental drug and appears to state the US gov has purchased doses. (Convenient good news a day after announcements the drug had failed.) But the wording is confusing and intentionally so.
I searched and read 4 or 5 published articles before finding one on NPR that did not simply cut and paste Lilly’s PR verbiage. By my reading the gov purchase is contingent on FDA granting Emergency Use approval. I’ve not yet seen that EU approval.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
