But what if unblinding and obtaining a penalty causes them to miss the statistical number on the 293 patient 3/4 viewing, requiring them to go to the 100% full 395 patient trial end? There in fact is a potential harm and there is a potential further delay to unblinding, even now that we know they won't be asked to increase enrollment. Lives may be lost as a result of unblinding, those lives that could have been saved by having approval at the 3/4 viewing, but instead could require going to the 100% viewing. Unblinding is not free even now. I trust the experts to make the call, not us armchair executives.
