And this is why news of success of any testing / trials is so important. Public sway is just as important as well. If there is a possibility of something else that can help, news of that can be a big influencer with the public to push people to help.
Since there is a rush for a vaccine, any news of testing success, etc.. should be met positive by the public, which would cause a push for those in govt and other areas to take a closer look at that news.
