Agree, sub-group analysis sucks - lower N, plus, because you are making more comparisons, you should adjust calculated p-values up to reflect that fact (of course the Remdesivir analysis didn't do this.).

You could reparameterize as (overall benefit) and (diff between S and C benefit) but I'm not sure that buys anything.
