Here is how to check what your settings are.
go to etrade webpage on a computer (not familiar with how to find this on an app)
"complete view" tab
"update your records"
"account preferences"
scroll down to "lot selection"
there are 3 choices: first in, first out / last in, first out / specific lot
I have "specific lot" selected. In my portfolio I expand the stock to see all of my purchases and I select which one to sell.
