Clearly everyone has their thoughts on the conference call announcement and what it means. I'm choosing to believe that the reason NP was excited for the end of this week was because he knew he'd get the recommendation from the committee. That's all. Step 1. A massive step though. He needs that information to pull off, literally, any of his next possible moves be it partnerships, UK trials, approval, manufacturing, or a hundred other possibilities. So he has it and can start getting busy. Taking steps. Signing deals. Whatever. I'd be excited too for that day (late Thursday is still roughly the end of week, by the way) and just because we didn't get some sort of instant announcement of a massive catalyst doesn't mean the news wasn't good.
Getting that info, if we soon find out it was as good as we all have been hoping it would be, means our little company is going to change in some big ways. Soon. That doesn't happen the minute a committee ends their meeting and hops on a Zoom call with NP. Good, great, decent, bad, or whatever the recommendation holds will take NP more than 10 hours to put into action. He now has a few days to get moving.
Maybe he's now in the process of asking the FDA for approval. Perhaps he's discussing partnerships and hammering out the final details now that both parties "know" where we stand. And yes, it could be that he's preparing to tell us all that the study needs to continue either as is or with some adjustments to ensure the trends result in significance. All of those things are in play, as are a variety of other possibilities, and they all take some time to be sure everyone is getting it right.
It absolutely is/was a big day for Cytodyn and I'm sure NP was beyond excited for it. He wasn't lying about that. And until I hear otherwise I remain excited as well. Nothing bad is happening involving the science or the safety. We're just all annoyed that the share price was higher, should be higher, could be higher, and that every time we think Leronlimab is about to make its big debut we find that someone has rebooked the venue for a later date. We'll find out in which way it was a big day soon. Keep your heads up and your wine purchases reasonable...for now.
