Penalty according to NP, to obtain interim analysis results, would cost us a minus p value of 0.005. So as example, we would need to meet, upon trial completion, p= 0.045 instead of 0.05
Based on the total death count, which Cytodyn knows (just not its distribution), it could potentially make sense to take the penalty if % death rate is above a high enough threshold. I'll defer to statisticians to answer that, but I believe, to feel confident in receiving penalty we need at least an overall 25% mortality.
