This is actually a very interesting topic. My hunch is that while there may not be a formal conspiracy the FDA would much rather do business with big Pharma and would probably prefer that big Pharma do the vetting on the smaller companies i.e. through buyouts or what have you. In fairness I can sort of understand this disposition because when you add people like Nader to the equation there is a lot of CYA going on at the FDA and this is where you get so many log jams… Difficulty with enrolling patients increased friction in the approval process etc. surely not what anybody that is a long wants to hear but I do think the one saving grace is the evidence… Who lives who dies a straight up vote that will hopefully come out to the benefit of all of us.
