Inescapably there is only one true North in the field of Science, it works..it doesn't work.The naysayers are (mostly) off the rails with the Science they are facing...(likely a personal agenda).
The truth of the matter is, your life experiences and expectations puts you in one of three camps.
A Believer, an Agnostic, or an Atheist...you just have to figure out where you want to start the fire.
