I was thinking initially that NP and the BOD knew that some major good news would break before the exec compensation share vote on Sep 30. If that were to to be the case, they would ride the good will of the retail shareholders.
Now, thinking about your question:
"Why would we want to vote so much shares to management that could create a situation where retail shareholders input would no longer be required in future major decision making?"
Did we cast that die by giving the execs the 100 million shares already, or are those shares not really in their hands yet? Have we overly trusted the management team? This is an unpleasant thought, and I'm struggling with it a little.
