Gilead has a brand to protect. They have always worked hard to establish a reputation in the antiviral space and now they find themselves in a situation where Remdesivir, one of their most widely known products is a sardine next Brilacidin which is a BEAST, a true antiviral and a literal SEA MONSTER in the antiviral space.
If they don’t step up and buy Brilacidin or At least partner with IPIX they will give up the brand recognition and miss out on countless opportunities to remain relevant. If you’re not growing, you’re dying... I think that when Leo first PR’d the Remdesivir comparison he was already engaged with Gilead and today’s pr is clearly flexing his muscle.
