Posting excerpts from a comment I found on another board regarding the future of telehealth. I found it relevant to where UNVC is headed in terms of an expanding market, especially mental therapy.
Quote:
My old lady is in her internship for her Psy.D. in clinical Psychology. They've been stuffing her book full of clients with substance use disorders(SUDS). There is a yuge addiction therapy shortage in this country.....continuing...(the other CEO) also had the brilliant foresight to start developing telehealth or virtual care before covid forced the industry into the realization that virtual care will revolutionize the mental health field. My OL and her colleagues are seeing a dramatic drop in no show rates with telehealth, and the retention rates are through the roof. It's a lot less time invested for the client, far more convenient, sadly still people feel stigma about going in to see a therapist, now they can just chill on the couch in the comfort of their home and talk with their therapist. Telehealth is here to stay and it will expand the market big time.
