I doubt its unexpected. Quick google scholar search will turn up many graphs of cytokines in a cytokine storm for different diseases. Probably quite some time back someone did this comparision before. (I know I did it but I cant remember which was more, the covid19 or the other LOL)
Patterson's theory that covid19 is a RANTES disease would be confirmed if these other cytokin storm diseases do not have high levels of RANTES?
