Is there a Parkinson's thread on this board?
I would like to see how ccr5 related cell migration contributes to parkinson's.
l have read about two correlates to parkinson's: over expression of alpha-synuclein and suppresion of LRRK2 (Denali/Biogen are working here).
I believe that as yet neither gene/protein has been established as causative, only correlated, although one recent study described a mechanism by which alpha-synuclein aggregates disrupt mitochondria function, which I believe is the key pathway in parkinson's.
Anyway, if there is a thread on this board, i would appreciate it if someone bumps it up
