My assumption is that BP is behind it all. It isn't games being played by the political parties because either one would benefit tremendously by being the first to claim/push leronlimab. That leaves BP; primarily GILD. Leronlimab as an HIV drug is an existential threat to their current revenues. And say byebye to revenues from remdesivir for CV19.
It would be to GILD's benefit to not have anymore 'anecdotal' success stories from EINDs which would explain why the EFF-DA suddenly disallowed anymore future EINDs. All these delays have been in hopes to get remdesevir out far enough ahead to win this race.
I think their time is nearly up. CV19 is too big a problem for a shitty drug like remdesivir to keep leronlimab at bay. I am confident in my anticipation that Boris Johnson will try leronlimab for his long hauler symptoms once EUA is approved in the UK and success stories begin to circulate.
