My concerns about a trial for long haulers is 1.) the ability to quantify improvement in patients given the disparity and severity of symptoms; and 2) the timing of the treatment. Is there an equivalent of NEWS2 for long haulers? The study may require a fairly large sample size to account for these variables which implies significant cost and time.
