Sent a resume to a company by certified mail thinking that it would get their attention about 25 years ago. It did. They refused to sign for it and it got sent back to me. The lesson learned is that businesses, especially smaller ones, do not accept certified mail unless it is from a known source that they expect it from. It is looked at as only a potential legal problem with nothing of benefit.
