Civic....everybody: You can turn off email notifications in the hangout settings:

The like/dislike feature is obviously being used as a weapon against some people here.

I highly recommend turning off the notifications to anyone who is experiencing this type of attack. You will still see the thumbs signs, but will not receive any more emails.
