I'm convinced that today's non-breakthrough announcement of an EUA for convalescent plasma was a theatrical event strongarmed on the FDA -- they were told trump needed *something* to distract from his sister's recordings and to kick off the Repub Conv. They'd already exhausted hydroxy, rem, UV lights, oleandrin...what was left? So the FDA gave him convalescent plasma even though the data are insufficient just because they were compelled to provide *something*. The added bonus is that trump gets to look like a swamp-clearing, deep-state fighting hero to his shrinking base at the same time, since the FDA had just this week denied the plasma EUA.

Note that Hahn also said that they still expect progress on therapeutics in the next few weeks. The FDA is still going about its business despite this ad hoc theater BS it was forced to produce.
