First board post here but have been reading your science/investing insights on the CYDY board for some time. I have appreciated and respected all your experienced inputs from the start.
Regarding WH COVID announcement Sunday, it could be a variation of what’s already been touted. Some Australia physicians have go-ahead to use a triple therapy of Ivermectin (anti-parasitic), zinc and doxycycline as preventive and treatment. Fox losing favor with WH so the new shiny is OAN and that channel has apparently run a story about this.
I went looking for predictions on the WH announcement and the triple therapy was widely discussed on Twitter. Since the treatment is cheap, being used on some level in another country, and available now it fits the MO of what the WH would push. That’s a relatively objective read of what the president may choose to elevate based on his history with HCQ, so I don’t think my bias against his policy-making, behavior cloud that potential for this to be the announcement.
It’s unclear what studies if any prove efficacy for the treatment. I found a Science Direct article from June 2020 that Ivermectin inhibits COVID replication in vitro, but I didn’t look elsewhere yet for other studies. All approved meds have been around for years, so it’s the new combination from an Australian physician and anecdotal feedback of effectiveness creating this narrative. I invested in CYDY a bit before the COVID pursuit because of all the potential indications. I post this to prepare us all, as anything other than Leronlimab announced naturally will impact the therapeutic pursuit. Yes, multiple therapeutics may be needed. But a simplistic therapy protocol that is cost-effective and without side effects seen in HCQ may drive news cycles for a while and the public may embrace it. The FDA may be prompted to act. GLTA
