I forgot to mention diarrhea. We need more data, but from what is available:

Would you rather be tied to a machine 4 times a day and worry about getting cardiac issues and/or diarrhea or would you rather take a once a day subcutaneous injection with an insulin syringe with no significant side effects?

once the blood gases start to improve there is no reason not to move to Leron*
And there are documented reasons to move there as quickly as possible.
