His comment stuck with me as well after watching the video.
As to what motivates the anti-cydy side, my best guess is that there are many who have made major financial bets against a drug like lero and therefore will be significantly, negatively impacted (financially) if the drug is ever approved. It's the only motivation that makes sense IMO and I agree that shorting likely has little to do with it.
