Not to go down a rabbit hole, but you and I can most likely take care of ourselves and rationally see the reality of threats - empty or not. Yes, having a family does change the playing field significantly.
Put yourself into Samantha Mottet or Melon Toy's shoes. They're real people that have innocently put themselves in front of the world with their personal news. I don't think they thought that it would elicit the response from the dregs of life.
No doubt a PR/Marketing firm is in order that can "sanitize" real world patient statements into "actor portrayals" to insulate vulnerable people.
And conspiracy theory fodder....if billions of $$ were at stake, it wouldn't take a stretch for a weak minded person in charge to say "take care of it".
