Regarding BP’s paper; I’m thinking that if BP isn’t happy for not being brought on Cytodyn’s board (it’s an assumption I’m making, we don’t know that as a fact) then it could be that he’s not in a rush to rebut the paper. Or else there has to be some explanation for this delay.
I think the initial submission to NEJM was screwed up by NP making public claims that the paper will get published on that journal (to this date I find hard to conceive how a PhD didn’t know that they couldn’t do this; if he did know and he still did it then it was a clear case of overselling, of misleading, of mismanaging).
Back to the point though: if Science or Nature paper was submitted only like a month ago (or even 2 months ago) then it could still take another 1-2 months before we see it published. And that’s assuming no games with BP delaying rebuttals and/or no games from the journal committee (which could easily also be influenced by Big Pharma network).
We’ll see. Hopefully by September but...I wouldn’t count on it.
