Assiduous, I know where you're coming from, and in some sense it is true that this is the name of the game, when a company needs money they often do not have much else choice than to sell shares.
However, they should be careful whom they make such deals with, and if a company has a track record of stock manipulation and bring sued for it by other companies, then maybe one should think twice about selecting them to do this deal with (that would only with, of course, if one has a choice).
Second, what I am actually upset about is that these bastards seem to have done what they are "famous" for, ie. manipulating the share price lie in negotiations with GNBT, such that they get 5m shares for the $2m instead of ~3.5m, er is what I find explicitly disgusting and the fact that these same crooks will receive up to 25% of the company for lousy $10m.
Third, as I mentioned in x previous post, they can then hurt us at least one more time, because I can already now foresee that they will be the first to start selling their millions of shares, should the pps start shooting up, eg. due to a positive surprise from BARDA.
Fourth, the short selling is related to my Second point, and it was likely used to drive the pps down to the low of the year, in order to create the best possible deal for themselves.
