very good post and 100% asking the lines of my thinking.
What I don't get is why they are not publishing /would still like to see is a PR officially telling about this not so great funding agreement they've signed (instead of trying to sneak it in hoping that nobody would notice - transparency, baby!) and then tell hat amazing things the are plying to do with this funding that may justify the terrible conditions that they agreed to.
If they have an opportunity of a lifetime, which they could only grab by the horns now or some one else would, then it may not be looking quite as bad. But then they need to communicate with us and let us know.
