Drug safety counts.
The treatment can be worse that the disease.
Covid is a huge deal, but we cannot allow unproven treatments into the market. We as a group believe we know Leronlimab is effective and safe.
The rules are such that this needs to be proven.
DOT and NHTSA still evaluate vehicle for safety.
The FAA regulates air traffic and airplane safety, and when they don't due to "accelerating pace of science and technology" we end up with 737 Max insisting on flying into the ground.
I want Leronlimab approved years ago, then millions of HIV patients would be living better lives, the manufacturing capacity would be in place and we wouldn't be afraid to shake our neighbors hands.
I get it.
I just will not be convinced that the process of drug evaluation can be cast aside.
