The more infections there are, the more hospitals become overwhelmed. The closer to full capacity hospitals get, the more it becomes likely that the economy needs to be shut down again. Its bad now and only getting worse.

Unfortunately, the worse it gets, the more pressure FDA will feel to grant approval for m2m. If we can keep the hospitals from becoming overwhelmed, we can open up the economy. In particular, grade schools so that people can get back to work!

I think EUA for s/c (perhaps even after the mid-way peek) is a done deal given the 'anecdotal' data from the EINDs.
