Don't fret.
MMs "create" shares when they short and then they are counted again when they cover (buy back) their short position.
So an entity with a float of 1m shares can trade 10m shares in a day because, partially at least, MMs shorting/covering throughout the day.
Over and over and over to ultimately square their positions.
