Most flu vaccines are made to last for a "season" and not long term. This Covid has too many unknowns but it does not appear seasonal, does it? I remember one year when I received the flu vaccine for the season I was told that it only prevented about 40% of the strains out there. That would probably not be acceptable for a Covid vaccine.
