My guess is that shorts feel emboldened that there wasn't an update that all the data from the hospitals have been received. I expect the SP will have recovered by the end of the day, but maybe the shorts have an inside guy at one of the hospitals who is effing with CYDY and so they are super confident in keeping their positions on over the weekend.
